1. Learn about Thanksgiving
Did you know the first Thanksgiving feast lasted three days and was never repeated? In fact, the colonist didn't even call the day Thanksgiving. To them, a thanksgiving was a religious holiday in which they would go to church and thank God for a specific event, such as the winning of a battle. Learn more by clicking one of the links below.

2. Visit family and friends
Remember those station wagon packed trips to Grandma's house, and that nagging sibling that would constantly need a progress report? Yes, annoying at the time, but a great memory nonetheless. Why not visit somebody special this holiday?

3. Buy a pie
What would Thanksgiving be without desert pies? A few years ago our marketing guy found a place that makes what he swears is the best pecan pies in the country. It's called the Jamestown Pie Company and their famous family recipe has been around for 80 years! At one time you had to drive to Jamestown, Virginia to get one of these treats. Now you can buy them online.

4. Try a new wine

5. See a parade
Who loves a parade? Everyoneespecially kids. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade began in 1924 and has been a tradition that's delighted millions of peopleyoung and old alike. The trick is getting all of those sleepy heads out of bed early enough to see it, although TiVo has helped with that.
