Additional Grades
Some items in your Stock Color Selector have one or more ORANGE 2-letter codes immediately following their description. These codes indicate that the colors shown are available in more than one paper and finish.

For example, Ref # 291 is Whitestone. Although the paper shown is Classic Crest, the exact same color is also available in Classic Laid (CL) and Classic Linen (CN).

The key to these codes can be found in the Additional Grades Key. (Ref #'s 54-64).

Top reasons that many mills use the same color for various papers.

Popularity – Some colors are extremely popular.

Creative Freedom – When mills match colors they are transforming a single product line into a family of products – all designed to work together. This enables you to mix and match different papers that share the same color.

Flexibility – Papers that match in shade give you the flexibility to use sister grades when the paper you really want is either too expensive or out-of-stock.

Efficiency – Staying on one color longer allows the manufacturer to increase their operating efficiencies. (It's usually easier, and faster, to change a paper's texture than to wash up the paper machine and change the color.)
